    Events – I cannot see events….

    Events – I cannot see events….

How to show historic triggers? In Events menu I see nothing when I pick the menu directly. When I pick trigger and date from Trigger menu in this way I can see Event.

When I pick Event from Overview menu I also don’t see events.

    I am using Zabbix 1.8 not 1.8.1.

I am having the same exact issue.

In the Overview screen, the row that is for collecting logs stays dark grey. On clicking the cell and then "Events", it takes me to the Events page and there is no data here.

However, the Status of the Item as reported by the Agent indicates there are no problems.

      Any clues?

Bumping this issue, I'm having the same problem.

I have Hosts monitored, with triggers.

I have some triggers currently active, with problem status, but when I go to events, there are no events listed.

I have an action setup for all events severity high or higher to send an email to the Network Administrators. I do not get any emails.

When I go to Administration/Audit, there are no actions listed.

Administration/Notifications has 0/0 for all users.

On my Dashboard, I can see issues, with disaster & high events showing, but there's no processing of these.

        CentOS 5.4, Zabbix 1.8.1 (Upgrade from 1.8)

I have a Zabbix 1.4.5 server that's been in use for a long time that works fine. If I can work out the issues, I'd like to move to 1.8

Okay, if I filter, I can see events now. It defaults to a filter of only new events after you first load the page.

Still having an issue with the email action, but I'll keep digging.

Okay, it looks like the issue was that the Network Administrators group has deny access to all hosts. Changed that, and it seems to be generating alters now. (I can see them under Administration/Audit/Actions)

Ok, i got this working finally and has to do with the agent side config.

The Hostname parameter in the zabbix_agentd.conf has to be configured properly and should be the exact name that one gives while *creating host on zabbix server* . This config has to be properly for all Active Checks.

Unfortunately, there is nothing logged in the agent side log as well even with Debug=4. And more as a problem, that is per design. The Zabbix Server will ask the agent to do the active checking only if the Hostname in the agent config is the same as the name of the Host configured on the Server.

At its basic level, this misunderstanding comes due the over-usage of words like host and server. In the Zabbix context, depending on what you are talking about, a host can mean,
              - a system
              - a FQDN
              - a Zabbix name for a system (this is the problem) and so on.

Similarly, probably the Zabbix Server should be called Zabbix CMS or something similar.

When i am done with all the full config, will blog the whole process.
